The Field Lab is a blog run by John Wells about his life on a sustainable farm in the desert of southwest Texas. It’s an incredible glimpse into what it takes to farm in extreme conditions, but it’s also pretty hard to resist because of the animals who stop by John’s farm. This is Benita, the longhorn who essentially adopted the farm as her own. Her calves Beatrice and Blanche have done the same, as has Carl the chicken.
